      @@Hotwire_RCTrix Yes, commentary is greatly appreciated, If people are to learn something, then it's hard to do so trying to follow a mouse and menus one can not easily see, and narration will let you throw in much more detail than you can show in a short time. It also allows you to make analogies, point out possible problems, do's and don'ts... and paint a much more thorough picture, for better understanding. Other than that you are obviously pretty advanced at it than I. I've been trying to get with FreeCad for over a decade, but it's not very intuitive as for the navigation controls and some other stuff with the UI, but I have seen what some can do with it, so it must be very capable to those that can wrap their mind around it. A corporation forked it and made some UI changes, and I heard it's quite good, and much easier to use, but they are also charging for extended use and features. It's called "Ondsel".

      @@Hotwire_RCTrix Well, you get no time limit from me, just a suggestion for the future. I still have ways to go before I get to "Lofting" for now, but I will have use for it, given what I need to do with it, and I need to draft for a wood cutting CNC, but just finding a CNC (At an affordable price) I can control with Linux is not an easy feat, with many of them being up to no good for making their shit run on Windows only, and with some proprietary wedge shoved in sideways to make sure their machine runs on their mutilation of what should be standards based software, and nothing else, some going as far as to lock down repair parts availability, and requiring subscriptions to use the software their machine is tied to, so that even though you bought the machine (are not leasing or renting it), they want to still control you to use their "Ecosystem" which has just become a word meaning "Get all up in your business and fleece you"!

    I found this hard to follow since I don't use TX companion. You can program this function on the Inputs screen of your radio using the switch as the input and providing a different curve for each. And then adding the inputs to the mixer section to control the desired channels. With a 3 position switch you could control 3 channels or get two functions on one channel and one function on the other.

    • @Hotwire_RCTrix
      @Hotwire_RCTrix 4 года назад

      Hi Ron It's ages since I made this video but it's likely better if you download TX Companion and play, even if you don't use to program your transmitter. This video is about logical switches and chaining the logic for various output. The audio is necessary to keep track of the logic your TX is set to. If you slow the video down, it's easier to follow, as I think I made it to fast.

    Hey, could you help me? I have a battery that has weak C (no idea what real C is but it's well under 25c for 2200mah lipo for a phantom sized copter) and no telemetry at the moment. RTL is set to 10.7volts on 3s. It messes with my flight big time when there are spikes/brown outs. RTL I don't mind because it's relatively safe but when the batt is low in any other mode copter tires to land. The thing is in GPS mode the return is too sluggish (even manual) and autoland function on my copter should be called autocrash since I don't have a rangefiner of any sort and it doesn't seem to detect landings propertly. I did a test and copter fails to maintain hover at 9,5volts. Can I in any way separate the two functions? RTL and Land (I would like it to not try to land -ever) when there's low battery? I would like to leave RTL as is until I set up telemetry but turn off land. Is that possible? When I tried to find it it seems to be connected. I would appreciate if you helped me. Also: how low should I set up low voltage in that case? Thanks in advance

(I bought both sizes from Banggood, along with extra bearings and clips, for less than $10 bucks with Free Shipping to the U.S.). • @Hotwire_RCTrix
      @Hotwire_RCTrix 6 лет назад

      Its not essential to use curves but it can be the useful. For example expo on pitch and roll can give you fine control in the center while not restricting the total rotation speed. Most flight controllers now have expo option but not the same choice as you can get from OpenTx config. You can build in a flat into a curve so smal movements are ignored arround stick center. You can switch on and of the effect of the curve while flying. and so on...

HOW DO I CONNECT MY RADIO TO THE SOFTWARE??? Yes, I can see my bootloader under device manager. Yes, I am turning the radio on the correct way. Yes, I see that is says USB connected. SO, I did everything just like you did up to the point where you open OpenTX companion, and that is the part where I get confused. Pretty much any software that I worked with has a "connect" button. Or at least something like that. Once you hit that button, you can see somewhere in the software that you are connected to the hardware... Speaking of hardware. I can see that on the symbol in right bottom corner of Windows, that my Taranis is connected to my COMPUTER... but how do I connect to the software. I know I changed a few settings in the Taranis and I would like to see those in OpenTX companion. But I cant! If I click on "Read models and setting from Radio" it says that my radio is not connected?! Thanks!

    • @Hotwire_RCTrix

      Sorry for the slow reply. You should get 2 USB drives when you connect the Rx. The software uses these to write the parameters to the Tx. Firmware update is different the driver that comes with the Open Tx software works this part. If you have corrupted the SD card then non of this will work. Download the the basic files and folders as in the video and over write the sd card with this image. Then go back and start again. Always unmount the sd card drives before you remove it from the PC. Cheers.
